How It Works

Three steps. Three minutes. Your $1,700 goes to the school you choose โ€” not the IRS.

1

Find Your School

Use our school search to find any qualifying private Kโ€“12 school in the country. Search by school name, city, or zip code. Every school in our directory has been verified as eligible under the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit program.

๐Ÿ’ก You can choose any eligible school โ€” not just one in your area. Many donors give to schools their children attended, schools in their community, or schools aligned with their faith or values.
2

Choose Your Amount & Give

Select how much you'd like to donate โ€” up to $1,700 to receive the full federal tax credit. Enter your payment information through our secure Stripe checkout. The process takes about 60 seconds.

๐Ÿ’ก The $1,700 limit is per taxpayer per year. Married couples filing jointly can each claim up to $1,700, for a combined maximum of $3,400.
3

Receive Your Instant Receipt

The moment your donation processes, you'll receive an email with your official donation receipt and plain-English instructions for claiming your federal tax credit. No waiting until January. No forms to track down. Everything you need is in that email.

๐Ÿ’ก When you file your taxes, your tax preparer or tax software will ask for your donation amount and our EIN. Both are included in your receipt email. That's all you need.
4

Your Scholarship Reaches a Student

Liberty Education Fund distributes your donation as a scholarship to an eligible student at your chosen school. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need. You'll receive a brief update on the impact of your gift โ€” not the student's name or details, but confirmation that a scholarship was awarded.

๐Ÿ’ก Per IRS rules for Scholarship Granting Organizations, donors may designate a school but cannot designate a specific student recipient. This ensures fair, need-based scholarship distribution.
